Welcome to my course on Material Take-Off Lists. This course was designed to give the student the knowledge to calculate materials used in the construction of a new home. 

Uses for this course:

  • Building Supply Workers for filling a contractors order.
  • Builder / Contractors for estimation of bids.
  • Architectural Drafters as a continuation of your education.
  • Also as a Home School resource for building trades.

What you will learn:

  • What will be needed for the foundation, including concrete and steel reinforcement will be needed for the footings, how many masonry blocks, the amount of mortar, foundation vents, etc.
  • How to calculate the amount of lumber, ie. studs, joists, rafters, etc., which will be used for the rough framing. Also the amount of sheathing for the exterior.
  • Calculation of the trusses, sheathing, covering of the roof.
  • Figuring how much floor decking and sheetrock or paneling is needed for the interior.
  • How many windows and doors and their types. What door swings and much, much, more.
