A young man was caught in the very act of a crime. He was arrested held over for trial and brought before the judge. The judge looked very stern in his black robes and sitting behind the mighty oak podium. The young man knew that this judge was out of patience with him, for this judge was indeed his father.

The case was heard and the young man made a plea of guilty, declared that he was sorry for his actions and asked for mercy.

The judge listened intently and then brought the gavel down and declared the young man to be guilty and fined him the maximum amount.

As the guilty one stood there thinking about what had just happened, the judge slowly got up, removed his robes and came down and stood beside his son. He took out his checkbook and wrote the check for the full of amount of the fine he had just levied.

Then he turned and put his arms around his son." I do not understand", the young man said.

His dad said," Well, when I was wearing those robes and standing behind that desk, I was your judge, I had to see your guilt, but when I removed the robes I was your dad and I could look at you through eyes of love not judgment and pay the price for you".

Think about what Jesus did for us, we stood guilty before a righteous God, but He looked on us with mercy and love, shed His robes of glory and came down to be one with us, pay our price and redeem us. How thankful I am that one day I will meet Him not as my judge, but as my Father, my Lord, my Friend , my Intercessor ! How awesome and wonderful is the love of this God that we serve! Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
